Question
we have a homework ? that I am stumped - can you give me guidance where to find information - book is not informative - it is on replication of DNA
5' A T C G G C T A C G T T C A C 3' - I honestly dont' know where to begin - it is for a 9th grade science class.

Answer
Hi Drew:  Thanks for your question.  DNA replication can seem daunting the first time you study it.  It's really not that hard if you just remember the base pairing rules:

A bonds with T
C bonds with G

If you're in the 9th grade, you are probably not studying the 5' to 3' replication with its leading and lagging strands.

Here is a movie I show my students on this subject.  It's a college level movie, but you'll be able to figure it out, I'm sure.

Hope this helps.  Please write back if you have more questions.
