Question
1. explain how does meiosis lead to variation
2.explain how mutations lead to evolutinary change

Answer
During meiosis the paired genes separate.  Assume an egg carrying a gene for blue eyes and a gene for brown.  If a sperm carrying a gene for blue the blue will be expressed.  If a brown gene the eyes would be brown

A mutation means a change has occurred in the DNA.  A change in the DNA is passed on to the next generation.  If this change results in a competitive advantage for an organism the organism has evolved.  Evolution means change
