Question
1)how many mitotic divisions are required to produce 512 cells from a single cell?
2)how many mitotic divisions occur in a root tip cell to form 128 cells?
3)minimum number of meiosis involved in the formation of 50 zygotes in angiosperm will be?
4)the number of meiotic divisions required to obtain 400 seeds of pae?
plzz explain how to solve such questions where we need any fromula to calculate....

Answer
Hi bushra;
This is simply geometric progression.  With each division the number is doubled
So for question number 1
1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512  = 10 divisions

Question 2

1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128   8 divisions

question 3
7 divisions would yield 64 cells so the  minimum would be 7

question 4
I do not know what pae is but 10 divisions would be needed to produce 400 cells
