Question
hello a question has been bugging me for years and no one seems to know the answer. Why is it that head hair and nails keep growing but eyebrows, eyelashes, and body hair only grow to a certain level and then stop?

thankyou for your time

D.Allen

Answer
Hair does not stop growing but slows down sooner in some areas then others like eyebrows, lashes and body hair. The follicles enter a resting stage called the telogen phase and hair begins to fall out then growth starts up again. It would cause a problem if your eyebrows gar as along as the hair on your head. I can not explain why this occurs but all life activities are controlled by feedback mechanisms and enzyme activity.  Enzymes stimulate growth and control it.
