Question
1.why is it advantageous for plants to have a vascular system?
2.what are meristems and how are they related to growth?

Answer
The plant requires the movements of food and water.  It is the vascular system that carries this out

The meristem tissue is where cells continually divide and differentiate.  The apical meristem for example is at the root tip where root growth occurs
