for a trivia question used for a television program - i need to know:  how big are water molecules when applied to the scale of an inch?  i know the number would be large, but that's o.k. - it's part of the fun of the trivia q!
thanks for your help

Answer
Size of water molecules

2.75 Angstroms (A)

1 inch = 254 000 000 angstroms

2.54x10*8 divided by 2.75 = .92x10*8 or 9.2 x 10*7

I should point out that the format does not allow for superscripts, so the asterisk (*) indicates that a superscript follows.  If you don't understand superscripts, it's a way of writing very large numbers.  Just count up the zeros and make it a superscript.  For example, 100 can be written 1x10*2.
