Biology/weight of hard boiled eggs

Question
Hi,  I am the coordinator of a food pantry and have a chance to get 25 lb bucket of hard boiled eggs.  How any eggs would be in the 25lb bucket?  Thank you so much

Answer
Dear Robin,

Chicken eggs can weigh between 15 (wee) and 30 ounces (jumbo), so the number of eggs you will get in your bucket will depend on the size of the eggs.  Since there are 400 ounces in 25 lbs, then you would probably get anywhere between 13 and a little over two dozen eggs, depending on their size.

Best thing to do is ask the purveyor of the eggs, and they should be able to give you an exact answer.

Hope that helps.
