Question
What is the function of contrioles in the centrosome of an animal cell?

Answer
Hi Jennifer,

Here are a couple of centriole functions:

1.  Cell Division - Centrioles are involved in the organization of the Mitotic Spindle.

2.  Intracellular organization - Centrioles play a key part in the arrangement of cellular organelles.

Of course, there are other secondary and tertiary functions, but I have listed the primary functions as related to an animal cell.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Chris
