Question
hi im doing this subject and i really did not understnand it when i was told the equation. i now understand a little how to work it out but i am tryin to work it out on a calcualator and when i get to the side lengths of 4 cm i am getting fractions as answers to the surface area to the volume ratio is there any other way to work this out.

Answer
Ok Jennifer
So you have a cube with a side of 4cm. That means that the surface area is 96 sq cm (4X4X6) and the volume is 64 cubic cm (4x4x4)  Ratio is 96 to 64

Divide 94 by 64 and you get 1.5 so the ratio is 1.5 to 1

Another exampleMake the side 5 cm
 SA would 150
Area would be 125
 150/125  =1.2  ratio 125-1

Now you calculate the SA-Vol ratio witha side of 6 and tell me what it is so I know that you understand
