Question
Hi, I am am doing a study of comparison on an energy drink (red bull and pepsi) and what some of the ingredients do. I would like to clear up some basic questions first, hoping you can help.



1) What does one really mean when they say that something gives them energy?



2) In what ways does caffeine provide the perception of increased energy after consumption?



3) What is the normal psysiological response to increased sugar? And caffeine?

1. The combo of high sugar and caffeine speeds up thr metabolic rate resulting in greater energy release.
2. The effects on the cardiovascular system (Heart rate, respiratory rate blood flow etc. can be tnterpreted an a boost in energy
3.Effects of caffeine are as I stated  Stimulation of the cardiovascular system and metabolism
  Increased sugar causes an increase in insulin production
