Question
Whats the similarities and differences between L- ascorbic acid and D- ascorbic acid? Can both be able to act as vitamins?

Answer
Whereas ascorbic acid is commonly known as vit C, it is in fact the L-ascorbic acid. This L-ascorbic acid is useful to the human beings for its antioxidant properties. The D-ascorbic acid is actually useless and is discarded by the body. I hope this was useful.
