hi please understand my question.chest cavity is in normal position but when we inhale chest cavity increases than normal position but when we exhale DO THE CHEST CAVITY REDUCES THAN THE NORMAL POSITION OR IT REMAINS IN THE NORMAL POSITION

Answer
Hi Jon
During inspiration the chest cavity increases depending upon how deep a breath you take. With experation it returns to the previous state. There is no single state that we can call a normal position. It is always expanding and contracting as long as you breath
