Question
Dear Florence,
I have a fungus in my lab(I think it's Trichophyton mentagrophytes) which grows moderately slow on solid medium(takes 15-16 days to cover a 15cm Petri plate, Sabouraud Agar), but it grows really, really fast in broth of the same type and forms a thick mat on the liquid in a conical flask in just 3-4 days. what do you think could make such a difference in the liquid? I have other fungi which grow equally fast on both agar and broth.
