Question I need to explain, with an example, how technology has changed the way we classify an organism. The example I have been asked to use is monera but any others would be great.
Answer The classification of all livings is based upon observable differences in morphology and in DNA. When I was a kid all living things were Plants and Animals. Then plants were divided up into vascular and non vascular plants and animals into vertebrates and non vertebrates. With advanced technology like the electron microscope we were able to look deeper into the differences among life forms. With the monera microscopy played a part as will as advanced techniques in biochemistry
