Question
Help!
I'm doing an experiment and i know that mold does grow faster on bread soaked in sugar solution, even grows faster than bread with water on it.
WHY???
can you make the answer sound like really pro and complicated cos its a school project and i need to hand it in like soon. plus impress the teacher.

Answer
Dear Anon,

I'm not going to write your homework for you. But I'll give you a hint about the answer.

All living things require energy for growth.  Sugar contains a LOT of calories that are easy to access and "burn" for energy.

Now, why do you think putting sugar solution on the bread makes the fungi grow faster?

Good luck!
