Question
Hello Walter,  I am having trouble finding useful web sites to help me 'to qualitatively investigate two factors that affect the uptake of water in a plant(celery stick)'. The two factors i think I'll use are temperature and mineral content of the water. But I can't find any web sites to explain an experiment on how to do this. Do you know of any web sites or experiments. Thank you.

Answer
Water moves up through capillary action.  You might study a little about capillary action.  Anything that is dissolved in the water will move up with it. The temperature of the water would be a factor because it is a difference in density. I do not know any web sites addressing this.  You may have to google capillarity experiments.
