Question
How do you suppose the nucleus became surrounded by a double membrane?

Answer
Hi Miranda:
You ask about a supposition. I would answer that the development of the cell structure was the result of the evolutionary process. What is the advantage of this.  Keep in mind that the endoplasmic reticulum is derived from the nuclear membranes
