Question
I understand that you can determine sex and diseases related to the different numbers of chromosomes. Our teacher told us to finish the packet and I don't understand the last question. I'm not asking you to answer the question for me, I was just wondering if you could help me out, since my entire family is clueless and my bio book says nothing about it! Here goes:
"After reviewing your initial report, the couple has a few more questions about their unborn baby's traits. They wish to know about their child's physical features such as eye color, hair color, and height. Based on your knowledge of karyotype analysis, how would you respond?" I know for sure that the daughter has Turner Syndrome. But how could you find the other traits? Please Help me. Thanks !

Answer
The karyotype of a girl with turners shows 45 chromosomes,  The 23rd pair (sex chromosomes) has single X chromosome. I would respond to the parents like this. "You cannot find out about her physical features from the karyotype. The karyotype merely shows the chromosome count and not eye color or hair color Turners individuals do have some common features and you can find out what these are by googling turners syndrome
