Biology/lifespan of sperm

Question
Sir,

Is the lifespan of sperm 72 hours. If so then where does the excess sperm go for a individual who abstains himself from any sort of sexual habit. There are certain celibates who claim never to have nocturnal emissions. Do the sperms get reabsorbed in the body in the form of protein or any other sort of nutrition?? Thank you for your time and knowledge.

Answer
Hello vinod
Actually in the female oviducts sperms can live 5 days. In the vagina they life span is 3-4 hours and in the air only a few minutes.
In answer to your question unless there is an ejaculation either from masturbation or emission sperm production slows down or decreases. I suspect the celibates masturbate unless they are not secreting testosterone.
