Biology/whats to the left in your stomach?

Question
I know the small intestine is on the right, but what's on the left side of your stomach?

Answer
Dear Jeff

It's a little bit difficult to say that any structure is exactly to the right or left of the stomach.  As you can see from the diagram here:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/presentations/100049_1.htm

The small intestine is coiled below the stomach, with the large intestine looping above and below.  The spleen is to the left, and the liver is to the right and the front, with the pancreas to the right, as well.

Hope this helps.
