Question
Hi
I am writing a story in which someone throws a character against the wall hard enough to break the arm. Or the arm is broken. He later goes to the hospital. But what would the doctor do and how long before he could use his arm?
Thanks.

Answer
You will have to decide what type of a fracture it is and what bone is broken. Let's pretend hat it is a simple fracture of the radius. The doctor would make sure that the bones were in alignment and then place a cast on the lower arm. He could still move his arm and save partial use the fingers.
