Question
Dear Walter

Example :

Blood group required by a patient because of injuries is A Rh+ ve.
Suppose by mistake, The Blood recieved by the patient is B Rh+ ve.

What are the consequences ?

will there be death ? blood clot ? paralysis ? Kidney Failure ?

suppose the doctor comes to know that the wrong blood has been transfused to the patient then
what are the actions he can perform so that the patient can be saved eventually ?

Thanks & Regards,
Prashant S Akerkar

Answer
It would depend upon how much blood was transfused but the certainly be a reaction. The B protein will cause a rejection reaction with blood clotting. If the transfusion was a pint the symptoms could possibly be treated.  I do not know what treatment is used in this case
