Question
I need proof from an expert for my 7 yo grandson.  He believes that blood is blue until it escapes from the body, comes in contact with oxygen, and turns red.  Could you please set him straight?

Answer
People have blood drawn every dsy and it i sdrawn into a vacuum tube. Vacuum tubes have no air and therefore no oxygen in them and the blood taht fills them is dark red not blue.
Also tell him that when we s ee color we see reflected light. Since blood in the body is not reflecting any light it has no color

See if you can find some photos of people giving blood and ask what color the blood is in the bag
