Question
I was watching an episode of CSI where a block of apartments were set on fire.

One room which caught fire had a classic fish bowl with a normal goldfish in which was pale due to the fact the room had been in darkness and the pigments had adjusted.

What I wish to know is whether that is plausible or whether it's pure fiction.

Answer
I enjoy watching the CSI shows from a science viewpoint and although much of it has a scientific basis a lot of the show is pure fiction. I do not recall the goldfish segment but goldfish are not necessarily gold and goldfish kept in the dark do not lose the gold color
