Question
Hi,
I am a freshman at Temescal Canyon High School. It has been required that we get an expert interview as part of our term project on Bioethics. My subject is Having One Child to Save the Life of Another using umbilical cord blood, etc. and I would greatly appreciate if you could answer a few questions.

1)What is your take on this procedure, as far as ethics go?
2)Do you think that taxpayer dollars should be put towards stem cell research?
3)What option would you choose in the situation?
4)What do you see the pro's and con's as?
5)How do you think this procedure affects society?
6)Why do you think it deserves attention?
7)How would you spend money and man-hours on this procedure?

Thanks so much,
Courtney

Answer
1. I agree with this procedure
2. Yes
3. I am not sure what you are asking here
4. It can save the lives of children. There is no "con" here
5. Anything tnat saves the lives of children  inproves society
6. Because it is a good thing
7. Do what it takes

Assuming that the second child is unharmed this is a no brainer
