Question
Why do crayfish have 200 chromosomes?

Answer
 Hi Sarah
Why questions involve Evolutionary biology. Crayfish are as they are because that is the way they evolved. All pathways were tried the chromosome count is as it is what works the best. We could just as well ask why we only have 46.

Any other explanation is not required. Why questions in biology are the only ones where I can answer,"because, that's why"
