Question
What is the difference between a product and a by product?

Answer
Oxygen is the by-product of photosynthesis. Glucose and oxygen are the final products of the photosynthesis process.A by-product is a secondary product derived from a manufacturing process or chemical reaction. It is not the primary product or service being produced. During photosynthesis, carbon dioxide and water are transformed into sugar and oxygen gas.Oxygen is the main by-product of photosynthesis since the plants convert CO2 to O2 via this process.
- Water is another by-product because transpiration still goes on to keep the plant standing upright to photosynthesize
- Glucose or Starch is also produced in the process of photosynthesis and this is stored in the plant.
