Question
Dear Prof Walter

Can Asthma disease happen in Pets viz Dogs, Cats, Horses, Birds, Fishes?

If yes, what are the treatments for the same?

Thanks
Prashant

Answer
Since asthma affects the lungs and breathing tubes and is an allergic reaction then we would assume that any animal with a similar anatomy could have asthma. This would rule out the fishes. Since asthma attacks can be triggered be emotional or stress factors however we can most likely rule out some vertebrates like reptiles  Treating the asthma would probably be the same but as I have stated before I do not know much about veterinary medicine
