Question
When mitochondria burn sugar in the process called respiration, one of the by-products is????

Answer
You should memorize the equations for respiration and Photosynthesis.  Respiration is 6O2   C6H12O6 (sugar)= 6CO2   6H2O   36 ATP (energy).   Carbon dioxide, water and energy being the products. A by-product may be considered heat which is a form of energy that is not used for metabolism.  Photosynthesis is just the opposite with light supplying the energy.
