Question
Why is the cell theory called a scientific theory and not a scientific law?

Answer
Good question Mark.  Often the words theory and Law are interchangeable.  The cell theory states that all living things are made up of cells.  To some biologists (including myself) this does not fit the protists which can be considered acellular (without cells).  The amoeba is an example.
This is a minor point however.
