Hi! I just wanted to see if you knew how much percentage of the worlds transgenetic crops or crops are in the usa. Can u give me someinfo on transgenetic crops thanks!

regarding the area under cultivation, the U.S. is leading in transgenic crops. In 2004, about 47 million hectares were planted with transgenic crops in the U.S., corresponding to 59% of the country's total area under cultivation.
Other countries with large areas planted with GM plants are:
Argentinia (16.2 mio hectares)
Canada (5.4 mio hectares)
Brasil (5.0 mio hectares)
China (3.7 mio hectares)

I have no data available for the percentage of GM crops actually harvested in the U.S. Hope this helps anyway...
