Question
We have two humidifiers in our home.  One in our room, and one in our son's room.  The one in our room works fine, but the one in my son's room seems to get a fishy smell to it in a few days.  I change the water and clean the filter but it doesn't help.  My question is; what causes this smell and why would it be only in one room.  We've tried three different humidifiers, but we get the same smell.

Answer
It certainly seems like the smell is coming from another source in the room then the humidifier especially since you have tried different humidifiers.  Perhaps the odor is getting in from something outside. Search the whole room and outside the windows
