Question
Why is it that when we laugh, we tend to say "ha ha ha" but not other pronunciations?

Answer
I started thinging about laughter and came to the conclusion that we do not really say ha ha at all.  Ha ha is laughter put into word form and in other languages it is not ha ha ha.
Laughter sounds vary from person to person from a te he he to a more gutteral sound depending upon the vocal cords. Actual laughter sounds are universal it seems to me.
 Interesting question Shawn.
