Question
Hi, my name is Rafael and I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I study at EARJ
which means: American School of Rio de Janeiro. Now at school we are learning
about minerals and all type of rocks! I have some questions about rocks and
minerals and I rope you could answer some of my questions!
These are my questions:
How many minerals exists?
Where do rocks grow better, in water or in land?

Answer
 Hi Raphael
There are about 3800 different miners recognized with maybe 50 more being discovered each year.
Minerals are formed in the magma.  Due to tectonic activity lava is extruded onto or into the surface where it is weathered forming rocks.  Rocks do not really grow but most are formed on land
