-----Question-----
How Does Age Affect the Nervous System?
-----Answer-----
Hi bobby
If you are planning to conduct a scientific study about this topic you will first have to develop a hypothesis and then design an experiment to test it. Now we already know that the nervous system changes as we get older and I think that your question is too general. You will have to narrow it down. Here are some hypothesis that could be tested.
Aging affects the memory
Aging affects the sensitivity to temperature
Do you see what I mean Bobby. You must have a hypothesis that can be tested. Think about what I said and get back to me an d will help you design an experiment.

Hi Bobby
You can contact me through e-mail at waltjh@sbcglobal.net
Give me some more information. What is your school and grade level. It is going to be difficult to complete a scientific study by Jan 8th. A study of aging and memory would be the easiest. All you need is somebody old and somebody young and some way to test memory. Do you have a grandparent and a young sibling or classmate that would help?
AnswerYour sisters are still young. The younger sister and the two cousins would make good subjects but You will need someone over 65.
Now look for some kind of a memory test. You will want to test short term memory. A good one is to place about twenty items on a tray and give the subjects one minute to study them. Then cover the tray and have them write down what they remember. Use a number of trials but be sure each subject has the same objects and the same amount of time.
You can also google "memory tests" if you wish to find different tests.
Keep in mind that your hypothesis may be incorrect but there is nothing wrong with that.
Use the e-mail address I gave you and let me know how you are doing.
