Question
How does amoeba detects the presence of food in its surrounding ? Is amoeba also conscious of what he do?

Answer
Hi hemant:
The amoeba is sensitive to changes in the watery environment surrounding it. A change in the movement of the water or in the chemistry will cause the amoeba to move in that direction.  The activity is not a conscious one.  Our concept of consciousness depends upon a higher nervous system taht that possessed by one celled organisms.
