Question
can you compare and contrast mitosis and cytokinesis in animal cells and plant cells

Answer
The main difference occurs during telophase when the cells divide completely. In animal cells a cleavage occurs between nuclei and a cell membrane forms across the middle and the cells separate.  Plant cells have cell walls and this would not work.  With plants the golgi forms vessicles which line up across the cell between the nuclei creating a cell plate and a new cell wall and membrane.
