Biology/How much biomass is on the planet?

Question
I need to know 2 approximate numbers.  First, I need to know how many tons of LIVING biomass is on the planet today.  Secondly, I need to know how many tons NON-LIVING biomass is on the planet.  Examples of non-living biomass would be biodeposits such a s coal, gas, oil, chalk, etc.

Answer
Hi Robert;
I have researched this question with no results.  I am not sure that it is possible to even get a fairly accurate estimate. 80% of the biomass in the rain forest is made up of ants and termites alone.  AS to non-living biomass: the biosphere makes up only a tiny fraction of the total material of the earth.
Sorry I cannot help you more.
