Do you know what spinifex is? I think it's grown in Australia. Thanks.

Dear Sara,

I'd never heard of spinifex before, but a quick Google search yielded this web site, with some very nice pictures and definitions of the plants you mention:

Spinifexes are very nice looking bunch grasses that appear to have an important ecological role in dry Australian grasslands.

The genus Spinifex, which is found only in marshy, coastal areas, can be seen here:
