Question
why do we use only methylene blue to stain animal cell why not iodine?
Dear Sumaira,
Different stains are used to stain different parts of the cell. Methylene blue tends to stain membranes, and is a useful "generic" type of stain. But iodine can be used in certain types of staining techniques, such as Gram staining, where different and more specific substances require identification.
