But this happens even if they haven't eaten that day. It's as if
eating causes it. (?)

Question -
A digestive system question: I thought it took 48 hours for food
to
go through the body, so why do people need to poo soon after
eating?

Answer -
Hi Lena
The food eaten previously has to be eliminated

Answer
It doesn't make a difference if food was not taken in that day as there is still food in the intestine unless the person has not eaten in a week.
Some people do not have to go soon after eating but it appears that filling the stomach in some people might stimulate the need to get rid of previously eaten food.
