Question
what is bilateral symmetry when they talk about earthworms?

Answer
Animals with a bilateral symmetry can be divided into a right and left side by a division through only a single plane.  Think about your symmetry.  If I were to cut you completely from your head to your feet through your nose I would have basically two identical sides.
Even though the worm is round it does have a right and left side.
