Question
How does natural selection cause evolution?

Answer
Natural selection does not cause evolution.  It is a factor in change.  There are differences in organisms and  these organisms depend upon certain environmental factor to survive.  Since there is competition among organisms only those with traits favoring their survival will do so.  In other words nature "selects " those with survival factors.
For example rabbit A can run faster than a fox.
Rabbiot B cannot. Which one gets eaten: rabbit B.
Nature has selected A to survive.
