Why is sodium not used to make cutlery?
Dear Waheed,
Well, for one thing, it's a very brittle metal in its pure form.
And, more importantly, it reacts explosively with water (or water-based substances). So Thanksgiving dinner would be truly spectacular if you had sodium dinnerware! :)
