are these chemicals prohibited to G6PDD babies-dimethicone,isopropyl isostaerate,phenoxyethanol,metyl,butyl,propyl,isobutylparaben,acrylates,C10-20 acrylate crosspolymer,triethanolamine,glyceryl monolaurate,tocopheryl acetate,bisabolol rac,tetrasodium EDTA,pls answer me,for my son.thank you very much

Thanks for your question.

The compounds you mention are nearly all common constituents in various medicines and other products for oral (by mouth) use. Some are anti-oxidants, some are buffers and some preservatives.

I can find no information that suggests any of these are inhibitors of G6PD or cause the production of oxygen radicals (which would cause the hemolytic anaemia suffered by babies with G6PDD) - sorry about the heavy scientific words but I wanted to explain what I had been looking for!!

While this does not say that they DON'T do this, it makes it less likely that they will have any effect in a G6PDD baby.

I, thus, can't be 100% certain but can say that there appears to be little if any evidence of any harmful effect in G6PDD of these compounds.

If in doubt, check with the manufacturer of the product to be used.
