Hi!
I would like to know if the acne vaccine is available anywhere?
Would you please let me know where i can get it?
I have mild acne, but it comes and goes....and i can't seem to get rid of it.
I am 28 years old and i am really fed up of it!
Please let me know.
I also don't mind being a part of a study if that's what it takes.

Apologies for the lateness of the reply - I was away on holiday and forgot to set my "holiday" flag!!

Anyway - I don't know of any acne vaccine - there are some pretty severe treatments for persistent and debilitating acne but they have potentially severe side effects (including behavioral changes). I still have the scars from long-term UV skin abrasion therapy for acne!

I would steer clear of these unless strictly necessary.

You note that the acne is mild and non-persistent - not a combination for a severe treatment!

I take it that you have tried cosmetic treatments that cover up the acne when it bothers you? Dietary changes are also said to help in some cases.

Can you identify any factors that spark a recurrence? This may give a clue to the basis of the acne.

In some, it is hormonal - excess male sex hormone (which is found in women as well) is one known cause.
