Biotech & Biomedical - Anabolic Cream

Expert: Dr.Paul Skett - 9/19/2009

Question
HI... is it possible to make a cream with antiseptics & anabolics to get faster the heal of wounds... if it, wich is the process?? Thanks

Answer
Hi, Aide,

Thanks for your question.

With the correct formulation you can make a cream out of virtually anything. Formulation, however, is a very difficult art and takes skill and experience to get right.

I am not sure why you would wish to mix an antiseptic and anabolic into a cream to aid healing - antiseptic will certainly reduce the risk of infection but will not speed healing and likewise, the anabolic will not speed healing - in fact, if it has any corticosteroid action (which it might have), it will slow healing.

Best wishes,

Paul
