Question
I am not sure if i should be tested for bipolar disorder? my live in girlfriend and mother of one tells me how often and quick my mood changes and I have had violent outburst where i hit the wall have even hit her and break materials around the house then I'm fine.  I tend to pace around the house and want solitude but then want to socialize with people and I don't do it anymore and it happens everyday apparently to have shifting moods.  Is this bipolar are something else.

Answer
Hi Terence:

I can't tell without being there and knowing a full history whether this is bipolar disorder you are dealing with or not.  There is definitely something going on.  I would suggest you make an appointment with a mental health counselor to discuss the issue.  Also, it would be beneficial to attend an anger management class.  No matter what we are dealing with, physical violence needs to be eliminated as soon as possible.
