Question
is there a diagnostic criteria for ultradian bipolar disorder? i cannot see a therapist because i am on my parents' insurance and i don't want them to know that i caved, because i worked too hard to get them to stop forcing me to take my anti-depressants to let them believe that they have won now that i am seeking help.

Answer
Hi, Kelly . . .

There are no criteria for the diagnosis of ultra-rapidly cycling bipolar disorder. People with such a disorder generally do best when treated with mood stabilizers while avoiding antidepressants.

Best regards . . .
