Question
Dr. Goldberg,
My 23 year old daughter is taking 600Mg. of Seroquel
and 54Mg of Ritalin ( Concerta )- she has been taking this for 8 months. She has been complaining ( for about a month ) of severe stomach cramps, pain - as well she feels nauseated after meals.
I know she is stressed with school - however is there a correlation with the medication ? Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Frank . . .

Your daughter should have an IMMEDIATE evaluation by a gastroenterologist. While it is possible that your daughter's G-I symptoms are related to the Concerta it is also possible that she has some other type of gastrointestinal disorder.

Best regards . . .

Ivan
